At Lexington Prime, we don’t recommend having microneedling done on an active acne outbreak. However, when the acne is dormant, Scarlet RF microneedling can provide several preventative benefits.
- Tighter pores. Scarlet RF microneedling helps reduce the size of pores. This leaves less room for the bacteria that cause acne to grow. It also makes the entrance to the pore smaller, helping to keep out dirt, toxins, and environmental contamination.
- Thermal effects. The radiofrequency (RF) energy goes deep into the dermal layers, causing your body to react by producing more collagen. This tightens skin and shrinks the oil glands in the area—the places where acne-causing bacteria thrive.
- Reduced appearance of scarring. With the promotion of collagen production via both the microneedles and RF energy, the increased volume and tightened skin decrease the appearance of ice-pick, rolling, and boxcar acne scars.
